Stay Tuned for SWMN Conference in Utah.  We are making plans for our 2010 Annual Conference in Utah at this time.  Currently we hope to feature Farm to School, selling to other institutions, policy, and organizational capacity building among other topics.  Timeframe is likely early June.  We will post details as soon as things are firmed up.

Seems Like Conference Season is Here! We are really busy with February conferences — Le Adams of Farm to Table is spearheading the NM Organic Conference, Jim Dyer is giving two workshops at Colorado Big & Small, and Utah producers should check out the Diversified Ag Conference — all posted on our Calendar webpage. We hope to have plans to announce soon for our Annual SWMN Conference later this Spring, most likely in Utah.

Happy New Year!! Following the recent success of our one-day state-level conference in Salt Lake this past November, the Steering Committee is exploring opportunities to do similar events with local partners across the region, so stay tuned here. Be sure to check the Calendar page since we will be presenting at some of our partners' conferences this Spring as well.

Utah Conference: We had a very successful SWMN Urban Agriculture Conference on 16 November in Salt Lake with well over 100 producers, policymakers, extension agents, and other community partners in attendance. We will be gathering the lessons learned as well as some of the presentations for the website, so stay tuned here. Check out the Urban Conference page to see the agenda.

SWMN Website: We have added new "Food Systems" Topics to the Directory of Expertise where you will find experts who can lend personal assistance, usually by phone or e-mail.

SWMN Newsletter: We are planning an October issue mailed out to everyone on the mailing list (3700 contacts). To save precious paper and other resources, we may not always send each issue out as a hardcopy, so see the Newsletter page about our Electronic Newsletters and how to get a hardcopy if you need it.
SWMN Conferences: We are considering smaller SWMN Conferences across the region to reach more people and are currently working on a Utah-based conference for this Fall. We will post details as soon as they are available. We will also be looking at opportunities for one or more SWMN Conferences in the Spring in other locations.
Newest Website additions: New Grant Writing Resources were added recently, and we have a much more easily searched Directory of Expertise .
