JUST COMPLETED:
2011 SWMN Conference:
"Food, Farming, and Caring for Mother Earth-Lifeway"
was held in Gallup, NM on 30-31 March with over
100 attending and a great number of Tribal community projects
highlighted.
Conference Projects Featured: The August issue of the Green Fire Times
includes excellent articles on Native American sustainability projects
including several projects featured at our last SWMN Conference in
Gallup. In Tawnya Laveta's article on our conference, "Creating Balance
at Home: Food, Farming, Spirit", she mentions the "Local Food
Initiatives" listings that we are collecting for this website, and will
post when we have the initial set ready. If you would like to have a
listing, request a listing form from Jim Dyer at jadyer@frontier.net
Reminder: We also recognize that groups within the
region may want to form discussion groups, listservs, Google groups,
and the like on a variety of topics. If you would like us to post a
notice of groups such as this and who to contact to get involved, just
send an e-mail to Jim Dyer at jadyer@frontier.net
NEXT SWMN ANNUAL CONFERENCE:
Planning is underway for our 2012 SWMN Annual Conference, likely in Southern Arizona in later 2012. We will keep you posted here.
